Much of the work of the Colorado Lawyers Committee is done through task forces. These groups often include lawyers with different levels of experience as well as community advocates. The task forces are usually chaired by partners from our contributing law firms and, where issues are politically sensitive, co-chairs from different political parties will lead the effort, to assure a bipartisan approach. This task force model permits lawyers from several firms to work collaboratively to solve problems. It allows lawyers to be active on cases when they are available and less active when paying work at their firm requires their attention. The task force model also gives newer lawyers hands-on experience working side-by-side with experienced attorneys. We invite lawyers from all firms to participate in our projects.
