Spencer Overton to be Keynote Speaker at 2014 Awards Luncheon

The Colorado Lawyers Committee is thrilled to announce that Spencer Overton has agreed to be this year’s keynote speaker at its 2014 Awards Luncheon. A nationally recognized expert on voting rights, Overton makes regular appearances on national and local radio and television outlets to discuss election issues. His commentaries also have appeared in the Washington Post, Roll Call, Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times, among others. He is the author of Stealing Democracy: The New Politics of Voter Suppression as well as several academic articles related to election law. Overton currently serves as the Interim President and CEO of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, one of the nation’s leading research and public policy institutions affecting communities of color. He is on sabbatical as tenured Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School.
