Information for Nonprofits

The Colorado Lawyers Committee offers two projects to assist existing small nonprofits with operating budgets of less than $500K.

NONPROFIT WORKING GROUP

Our Nonprofit Working Group matches volunteer attorneys with small nonprofits to assist with a specific legal issue (not litigation). Nonprofits must affirm that they might not otherwise afford legal services. This program is co-sponsored by the Colorado Lawyers Committee and the Colorado Nonprofit Association.

Nonprofits interested in participating must apply through the Colorado Nonprofit Association. Submitting an application does not guarantee we will be able to locate legal assistance for your organization.

nonprofit legal audit clinic

The Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic is a two-hour program for small nonprofits held twice a year (usually July and February). Teams of volunteer attorneys review a checklist with participating nonprofits to evaluate their legal health. This program is co-sponsored by the Colorado Lawyers Committee, the Colorado Nonprofit Association, Holland & Hart LLP, and the Association of Corporate Counsel–Colorado Chapter.
