DENVER Legal Night

AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED WHILE BROADENING YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE BY WORKING WITH EXPERIENCED AND COMMITTED LAWYERS.

Since 2006, more than 2,200 volunteer attorneys have helped more than 32,000 people in the Denver-metro area at Denver Legal Nights. From 2010-2020, CLC also co-sponsored Greeley Legal Nights alongside the Spanish Speaking Lawyers Association of the Colorado Bar Association and Weld County Legal Services, and served more than 2,300 people in Weld County.

The Denver Legal Night clinic is held in-person at Centro San Juan Diego at 2830 Lawrence Street, Denver CO 80205. In-person clinics are on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. The in-person clinic is first come, first served, based on area of law.

Areas of law addressed at legal night commonly include: Immigration, Family, Criminal, Landlord/Tenant, Consumer and Employment.

Who We Serve

Individuals are served on a first-come, first-serve basis. Most participants arrive with very specific questions and legal issues. Interpreters are provided whenever possible. You’ll be surprised how much assistance you can provide to someone who is confused or unfamiliar with the U.S. legal system.

Pro bono Work at Legal Clinics

Have you ever considered volunteering at a legal clinic?  A video developed by representatives of the Office of Attorney Regulation, the DBA Access to Justice Committee, and the Access to Justice Commission answers many questions you might have.  Colorado’s Attorney Regulation Counsel, two Colorado Supreme Court justices, a district judge, and several practicing lawyers describe how rewarding pro bono work in a clinic setting can be.  The video also explains the ethical considerations involved in such pro bono work and provides links to the necessary resources to get started.

Please take a few minutes to view the video.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers help determine significant legal issues, refer individuals to legal services, and answer other questions about the legal process. Volunteers do not provide legal advice or representation, and you do not need expertise in a particular area of law to participate. Legal resource binders which include referrals in 15 areas of law are provided.
